Academy Camp 2011" workshop for children in Fukushima!

I am Ito, in charge of design.

As a staff representative, I am pleased to report on the recent workshop.

Six months have passed since the Great East Japan Earthquake of March 11, 2011.

We have been thinking about what we can do to support the recovery. We have been thinking about what we can do to support the recovery, and we are currently supporting "Project Yui," an organization that supports children's learning and play in the affected areas.

On Wednesday, August 24, I recently participated in the "Summer Camp 2011" organized by Project Yui. This camp is an event for children in Fukushima, who are restricted from playing outdoors due to the earthquake and the nuclear power plant accident, and invited them to the YMCA International Youth Center in Gotemba free of charge to experience a variety of play and learning activities.

The workshops we conducted were Let's make your own pendants and key rings out of empty cans!"

Everyone listened to the explanation of how to make them while drinking juice, and using the cans as they drank them, stamped their names, etc., and added metal fittings and chains to complete the process.

The children quickly became accustomed to the work, which I had expected to be difficult for them, and each piece was filled with their own individuality.

When I called out to them, they all smiled and showed me their works!

It was the first time for us to conduct a workshop, so there were many unfamiliar points and we were worried about whether we would be able to make it on the day... but thanks to the energetic children and the follow-up by all the volunteers, we were able to complete the workshop without incident.

We would like to continue to provide long-lasting support, mainly through our activities at Project Kizuna. Thank you for your continued support!

A Glimpse Into Our Newly Renewed Atelier

Hello, I'm Masada, the designer. We reopened in September, and the shop has gradually taken shape. This time, I'd like to introduce our store interior, packed with our carefully curated details. First, the entrance—the face of our shop. We wondered if we could make the entrance a sliding door, even if it seemed like a long shot.
