[Niteroi Museum of Contemporary Art, Niteroi, Brazil

In the second installment of the Rio de Janeiro section of our Brazil business trip report, we take a break from jewelry to look at architecture + α.

One of the reasons for my strong feelings toward Brazil was a fashion magazine (I think it was VOGUE or NUMERO) that used a building on location for a new collection.

And theNiterói Contemporary Art Museum (locally known as "MAC")The building of the "Kosmos" was designed by Oscar Niemeyer, and it is a place I would like to visit more and more! I was very impressed with the architecture of this place and wanted to visit it more and more.

For more information about Oscar Niemeyer, please see this Wikipedia page.
Wiki: Oscar Niemeyer

Oscar Niemeyer is a true Brazilian master, and it is no exaggeration to say that he built not just a building, but the modern Brazilian nation itself.
Born in 1907. He is still alive and well! He is 103 years old! And he is still active.
The Niteroi Museum of Contemporary Art opened in 1996, so the work is 89 years old.
It's too amazing.

Before arriving in Rio, I thought it would be easy enough to just take a detour and see the outside of the city on my way to or from the airport, but when I finally decided to go there, I found out that Niteroi is a town across the bay from Rio, and it is quite a troublesome place to get to by boat and bus. I found out that Niteroi is a town on the other side of the bay from Rio, and it is quite a troublesome place to reach by boat and bus.

We set out in the strong Rio sunshine.

In the opening scene of Black Orfe, the ship departs from the port where Orfe lands.

Arriving on the other side of the river, I got a postcard of the Niteroi Museum of Contemporary Art, and showing it to various people, I tracked down the number of the bus and boarded it without incident.

About 15 minutes into the bus ride, we suddenly saw something that looked like a spaceship along the coast! Suddenly, there was a spaceship-like object along the shore!
It arrived safely.

This is the view from the entrance.
Go up the gentle spiral ramp on the left to board the spaceship.
The final boarding call for the moonbound flight is underway.
Hurry up!

The view from this angle is the contrast that got me into Brazilian fever!

Inside the museum.
As for the museum, the exhibits were very minimalist and I felt it would be better to use it as a concert hall or something. I feel like something like "An Evening to Call All Aliens Together" would be nice.
The same red and blue contrast as in the museum photo above was found in the streets of Rio!

The colors of the intersection are also blue and red!
Perhaps because of Brazil's strong ultraviolet rays, I feel that the colors are uniquely vivid and powerful to the eye.
The color of the clothes and shoes I wear looks completely different.

In Brazil, the red color also looks a bit more sky blue.

A Glimpse Into Our Newly Renewed Atelier

Hello, I'm Masada, the designer. We reopened in September, and the shop has gradually taken shape. This time, I'd like to introduce our store interior, packed with our carefully curated details. First, the entrance—the face of our shop. We wondered if we could make the entrance a sliding door, even if it seemed like a long shot.
